Kinship: Family, Mob, Tribe and Nation

Author(s): Robert Watts

Primary

This is a continuing story on the First Australians' extended kinship. It is an explanation and contrast on how we define family and extended relationships. The First People's extended family was essential for survival but through this came a deep and lasting sense of belonging. The First People described themselves in terms of thier extended family not as an individual.
